Dr. Arun Sett is a Victorian-trained consultant neonatologist and clinician-researcher, recognised for his leadership in neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) research. As the Imaging Lead for the BLUERPINT Study, and Site Lead for Joan Kirner, Arun’s innovative approach to neonatal care and medical imaging is shaping the future of neonatal respiratory support.
Arun holds a PhD focused on the use of lung ultrasound to guide neonatal respiratory management, blending pre-clinical translational research with advanced clinical studies. His doctoral work, a pioneering effort in neonatal care, has earned international recognition and multiple prestigious awards, including the Australian Society of Ultrasound Emerging Enthusiast and Young Investigator Awards, as well as the World Federation for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology Young Investigator Award.
His research extends beyond lung ultrasound, encompassing a range of cutting-edge topics including electrical impedance tomography, neonatal respiratory physiology, point-of-care ultrasound, and neonatal haemodynamics. Dr. Sett’s multidisciplinary expertise is at the forefront of improving neonatal health outcomes, and he continues to drive innovation in both clinical and research settings.
