Study information
The BLUEPRINT Study is led by Professor David Tingay, a clinician at The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) and a researcher at the Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI).
David and his team aim to provide a comprehensive view of preterm lung disease by integrating data on lung injury, function, and cardiorespiratory status from 550 preterm babies.
The goal is to establish the first comprehensive definitions of early preterm lung disease, develop predictive models, and identify prognostic markers that could lead to more effective therapies for these vulnerable infants.
This research has been funded a National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Clinical Trials and Cohorts Scheme Grant (Grant #2024039), covering 5 years of research. There is no commercial sponsorship or funding for the BLUEPRINT Study.
