Professor Davis is the Professor and Director of Neonatal Medicine at The Royal Women’s Hospital, Melbourne, where he has led the Department of Newborn Research since 2009. He completed his MBBS at the University of Queensland, followed by basic paediatric training in Brisbane, and pursued his neonatal fellowship at McMaster University in Canada, where he developed a strong interest in Clinical Epidemiology and Evidence-Based Medicine.
Upon returning to Australia, Peter was appointed as a consultant neonatologist at The Royal Women’s Hospital, Melbourne. His research focus on non-invasive ventilation led to the completion of his MD through the University of Melbourne. Peter leads a dynamic team of clinical-researchers committed to enhancing the care of newborns both in the delivery room and the neonatal intensive care unit.
In addition to his clinical and research roles, Peter is a significant contributor to the Cochrane Collaboration and serves as a member of the neonatal subcommittee of the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR), where he plays an integral role in shaping global resuscitation guidelines for neonates.
